A 2024 campaign in support of
Canadian Magen David Adom for Israel
& Israel's National Human Milk Bank
The heartbreaking reality is that since October 7th many babies have been left motherless or unable to breast feed. Some babies cannot breast feed because their mothers sustained injuries, were kidnapped or murdered. In other instances, new mothers have been called up to active duty in the IDF and are unable to nurse their infants.
It takes 22 litres of breast milk to save the life of a very low weight premature baby and each litre costs Israel's National Human Milk Bank $360. Your donation is vital in saving the lives of babies and will give them their best chance at a good start in life.
Double Your Impact With One Donation
Israel Bonds Women’s Division has launched a North America-wide campaign with the goal of raising $180,000 for Magen David Adom & Israel’s National Human Milk Bank. The centre is a vital source that collects and distributes breast milk to babies in need.

About Magen David Adom
Magen David Adom (MDA) is Israel's volunteer-based Emergency Medical Services System, committed to saving lives regardless of religion or ethnicity. It operates a top-tier emergency response infrastructure, including ambulances and blood services, collecting and delivering over 270,000 units of blood annually. MDA's strategy focuses on minimizing response times through technology and integration of communal response. With 33,000 volunteers from diverse backgrounds, including Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Druze, MDA embodies unity in saving lives. Its fleet of 1,500+ ambulances, helicopters, and other vehicles, along with 200+ stations nationwide, ensures comprehensive coverage for all Israelis in medical emergencies.
Israel's National Human Milk Bank
Of the nearly 200,000 babies born annually in Israel, about 10% aren’t full term. Of those, about 20% are severely preterm and underweight, putting them at risk for a number of serious medical conditions that can lead to developmental disabilities, severe morbidity, and infant mortality. A ready supply of breast milk from healthy mothers plays a crucial role in saving the lives of these babies. That’s why Magen David Adom established Israel’s first and only human milk bank in 2018.
Your support can provide critical equipment, supplies, and trained technicians to meet the growing quantities of breast milk required by Israel’s neonatal units.

About Israel Bonds
On May 14, 1948, David Ben-Gurion spoke six words that electrified the world:
“The State of Israel has arisen!” Three years later, Ben-Gurion made another dramatic announcement: Israel Bonds, Israel’s initiative for a global economic partnership with the Diaspora, had officially launched.
A defining moment in Israel's history, the creation of Israel Bonds reinforced the deeply held connection between supporters of Israel around the world and the people of Israel.
In acknowledging the role of Israel Bonds, both historically and since Oct. 7, 2023, the Israel Ministry of Finance Investor Newsletter dated April 2024 stated, “The Israel Bonds Organization (Israel Bonds), the state’s longest-standing financing source, raised USD 2.7 billion in 2023, with the majority of funding coming in the wake of the October 7 terrorist attacks. This organization issues non-tradable, low-denomination bonds across numerous countries, primarily targeting retail bond buyers, notably the Jewish Diaspora, as well as supportive institutions, such as U.S. state treasuries. Due to its unique investor base, Israel Bonds exhibits a counter-cyclical dynamic with Israel: during times of economic or geopolitical shock, the organization experiences an increase in demand as investors express their support for Israel.”
